How the KSA course model helps

A Parent Perspective

A Student Perspective

Learn skills and attributes that prepare you for the real world

Courses are designed to challenge students by having them apply concepts in a way they may need in the real world. Challenging students to use new skills while learning improves knowledge retention. The success of our students is essential to us, and our students agree.

Knowledge

Gain mastery of a subject while using innovative methods to ensure retention.

Skills

While mastering a subject, students are tasked with a myriad of real-world challenges that enable them to learn new skills in the areas of collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.

These skills are essential to excel outside of the classroom.

Attributes

Attributes are soft skills that improve social and emotional learning.

Our courses include deep questions and challenge students to apply knowledge in ways that help students become more emotionally resilient and prosperous—personally and professionally.

How credentials are infused into courses

Each course has a badge representing a skill and attribute that students can earn.

How to earn credentials

To earn credentials, students opt in and complete challenges in addition to their regular coursework.

For example, in the 9th-grade world geography course, students can earn the respect attribute and communications skill by presenting to a family member something they admire about another culture.

College Career Readiness

College and Career Readiness

Skills and attribute credentials offer tangible evidence of capabilities to colleges and employers. These credentials set our students apart from other applicants by showing they have successfully mastered desirable skills that benefit the organization.
